Well, I got as far as Lincoln, Nebraska today, many more miles to go just to get across the Corn Husker state. It is definitely a handicap going cross country when you don't eat meat or fast food. Pretty much nothing else available. I do love my chips, but it is really not great to be ingesting too many of those in a day. Don't want to get pimples at my age.
A friend of mine, MissyKaye sent me on my way with 4 CDs of highlights of Prairie Home Companion. Pretty funny stuff. I didn't realize that it started playing again when I was half way through listening to side one AGAIN and thought, geez didn't I just hear this or am I having a deja vu? That is what driving does...
Went to a great rest stop in IOWA, had beautiful huge sculptures in the front. Took pictures so when I figure out my phone issues (yes having problems connecting to T-Mobile right now) I will attach them so you all can see them. I went into the staffed Visitors Office because I couldn't find my TripTik maps and got a couple of maps from the older woman working there. She then asked me to fill out a visitor form, which I did and she presented me with a pin that said IOWA on it with the shape of the state and also a package of 4 coasters, all said.... wait for it... wait for it... YES IOWA!
I finally found my TripTik after my friend Inny had researched on the internet and sent me her version of a TripTik, Inny style. It was great
So hope all is well with everyone of you lovely people.
